Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) filters are designed to ensure that electronics are not affected by, and do not themselves generate, electromagnetic disturbance. EMC describes how well a device can function in an electromagnetic environment, as electric noise is generated by every device and can interrupt wires and cables which can lead to problems for connected devices.
